I was fortunate enough to find this monster lying under a rock with no where to go in only 3.5m at the north end of Kapiti.
He weighs in at 4.6kg (10.12lb) two days later I went back out to a different area and picked up two more both weighing between 2.5 and 3 kg at a depth of only 7m.
The bucks are all in shallow whilst the girls are a little deeper as they feed up prior to going back into berry.
The diving has been really nice with warm water and good visibility of out to 10m this is also improving as the weather settles.
